Boston College knew it needed to start fast, hosting Florida State on primetime Friday night for its annual Red Bandana game.

After former quarterback-turned-wide receiver Jeff Smith took a double-reverse handoff earlier in the game, Eagles coach Steve Addazio came right back to that familiar look.

BC scored its first touchdown of the evening with 7:55 remaining in the first quarter on a smilar double-reverse pass where Smith found Kobay White in the back of the end zone to break a scoreless tie. Smith’s pass looked like it had a chance of sailing out the back of the end zone before White got his feet down inbounds for the diving score.
