We’re tracking the DI women’s college basketball teams that are undefeated during the 2020-21 season.

We’ll update this article through the end of the season or until the last undefeated team loses. The teams below are listed first by number of wins and then in alphabetical order.

*Note: Teams that haven’t played a game this season are not included. All records and stats are current through Jan. 18.

California Baptist Lancers (12-0)

Next game: Friday, Jan. 22, vs. Chicago State

Brittany Thomas leads the Lancers’ offensive charge and is top six in WAC scoring with 14.6 points per game and in rebounds per game (9.3).

Louisville (12-0)

Next game: Thursday, Jan. 21, vs No. 23 Syracuse

The Cardinals made program history  Jan. 18 becoming the No. 1 team in the AP poll for the first time. Louisville has a balanced scoring attack with four Cardinals who average in double-digit points. That’s led by All-American guard Dana Evans, who averages 19.4 points per game.

Michigan (10-0)

Next game: Thursday, Jan. 21, vs Ohio State

The Wolverines have moved up to No. 11 in the AP Top 25 poll on Jan. 18 —  the highest ranking ever in program history. Naz Hillmon leads the Wolverines at 23.7 points per game.

NC State (10-0)

Next game: Thursday, Jan. 28, vs Virginia Tech

The Wolfpack moved up to No. 2 in the AP Top 25 poll on Jan. 18. The last time the Wolfpack was ranked No. 2 in the nation was back in 1990-91. NC State started the season No. 8, but the upset over at-the-time No. 1 South Carolina pushed the Wolfpack up to the Top 5. Four Wolfpack average in double-digit scoring, led by Elissa Cunane averaging 16.2 points per game.

UConn (7-0)

Next game: Tuesday, Jan. 19, vs. Butler

The Huskies lead the conference in both points (87.0) and rebounds (45.5) per game. UConn’s roster makes up seven newcomers, led by freshman guard Paige Bueckers— who has lived up to the hype, and then some — leading the Huskies in scoring with 18.9 points a game. Bueckers has also won Big East Freshman of the Week honors in four of the last five weeks.

Bucknell (6-0)

Next game: Saturday, Jan. 23, vs. Colgate

Bucknell’s 6-0 start is the best since their 1986-87 campaign when the Bisons had a 7-0 record.

Alabama State (3-0)

Next game: Saturday, Jan. 23, vs. Alcorn State

The win against Mississippi Valley on Jan. 12 marks Alabama State’s best start to a season in program history. Alabama State is another team that faces a conference-only schedule, but their 3-0 record in SWAC marks their best since 2009.

UC Davis (1-0)

Next game: Friday, Jan 22, vs. UC San Diego

The Aggies picked up its first win against San Francisco, 82-75 back when the 2020-21 season tipped off on Nov. 25. To remain compliant with local health orders, games that were scheduled through Jan. 2 were canceled — which resulted in 13 cancellations for the Aggies. UC Davis will resume play this Friday against San Diego.
