Ohio State All-American guard Kelsey Mitchell became the all-time leader in NCAA women’s basketball in 3-pointers on Monday night against Maryland. While the Buckeyes fell to the Terrapins 99-69, Mitchell needed just one three in the game to surpass Laura Malernee of West Liberty (DII) and place her name in the record books with 442 3-pointers (and counting).

The 5-8 senior from Cincinnati, Ohio, is 442-of-1153 (.394) in her career from behind the arc with 10 regular season games remaining. Mitchell entered the week ranked second nationally in scoring at 25.3 points per game.

Mitchell also improved to eighth all-time in career scoring in DI women’s basketball history with 15 points against Maryland, passing UConn’s Maya Moore (3,036 points) and Delaware’s Elena Della Donne (3,039). Mitchell now has 3,048 points in her career. She needs just 46 points to break Minnesota’s Rachel Banham record for the most points in Big Ten history.

Washington’s Kelsey Plum holds the all-time scoring record with 3,527 points.
