The DII Women’s Soccer Championship finals are set. Two teams without a loss on their record will face off in Saturday’s championship match.
The first match of the day saw the Carson-Newman Eagles improve their record to 21-0-1, defeating Colorado-Colorado Springs 2-1. The Eagles made program history, and will appear in the program’s first-ever championship game. UCCS had a historic season of its own, finishing with a program record 17 wins, capturing its first-ever Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference title, and marching all the way to the semifinals in its first-ever NCAA postseason.
The second match saw Central Missouri improve to 25-0-0 with a 3-0 win over Mercy. The DII career shutout leader Ana Dilkes was at it again, posting the 64th shutout of her illustrious career and 21st of the season. The high-powered Jennies offense was at its best as All-American Jada Scott led the scoring attack. The Mavericks, too, had a season of historic proportions. Mercy reached its first semifinals behind a program-best 18-win season.
The stage is set. Come right back here Saturday, Dec. 2 at 1 p.m. ET for live updates, scores, stats and all the action from the DII Women’s Soccer Championship finals from Swope Park in Kansas City, Missouri.
