Fontbonne lead 78-62 at halftime with the two teams tied at 144-144 after regulation. The Griffins outscored Greenville 20-10 in overtime to secure the win with Jared Woodcock breaking the record for combined points with a pair of made free-throws with 48-seconds remaining in the game. After taking a 16-point lead into halftime the host Panthers put up 82 points in the second-half to draw the game even. Greenville scored the first points of the overtime period on an Adam Warren jumper and held a two-point lead after a Johari Dix free-throw with 4:10 remaining. However, the Griffins responded with a jumper by James Wiggins which sparked a 7-0 Griffin run. The Griffins would carry that momentum to the finish with Woodcock scoring six straight points as the Griffins pulled away and opened up their lead. The Panthers missed their final five shots of the game as Fontbonne handed the first-place Panthers their first loss at home this year.

Kris McCann led Fontbonne with 40 points, going 16-of-20 from the floor while adding 10 assists. Noah Coddington finished with 15 points and 17 rebounds while Luke DeLine returned from an injury that caused him to miss the previous five games to record 25 points and 12 rebounds off the bench.

Greenville was led by Riley Simmons’ 20 points while putting nine players in double figures in scoring. Greenville entered the game averaging 124.7 points per game this season, tops in Division III and have led the nation in scoring in each of the previous two seasons.
