GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas — After rains moved back the game to three different times, UC San Diego won its fourth game in five days to advance to the championship series.
Troy Cruz pitched a complete game, striking out 11 Spartans. The Tritons defeated St. Thomas Aquinas for the second time in two games 7-3.
St. Thomas Aquinas saw their miracle run come to an end, finishing 44-17. Giovanni Dingcong made his presence felt to the very end, blasting another home run and making an incredible catch.
UC San Diego’s starting pitching and offense continued to simply help them be the superiror team.

Two teams are left. UC San Diego will face West Chester for the hardware Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
