Texas’ announcement this week that sophomore guard Andrew Jones has been diagnosed with leukemia and has begun treatment was sobering news in the college basketball world.
Oklahoma State showed its support for Jones with special shooting shirts for Saturday’s matchup between the Cowboys and Longhorns, an admirable gesture for the game between the Big 12 foes.
Jones was the team’s second-leading scorer at 13.5 points per game and the overwhelming show of support shows the news is much bigger than basketball.
