The third Saturday in October is the biggest rivalry in college football, at least it is growing up in Tennessee. Being located in the southern part of the state makes way for more Alabama fans populating the same area.
Even the best of friends separate and takes sides when it comes to TN vs AL, it all depends on the preference.
Sure, the breaking of the Gators record made the Tennessee fan base buy into Team 120. However, one of the biggest prizes in this state is to defeat the goliath that is Alabama, besides the SEC or National Championship.
I remember going to church as a kid. An elder approached me, he always had something funny to say each week. Well, it just so happened it was the Sunday heading into TN vs AL week.
I’ll never forget his words, “I only like two teams in college football, Alabama and whoever is playing Tennessee.” Although I have heard these words many times over the course of my life, I am always reminded of these words every year around this time…
The Vols are badly injured going into the biggest week of the season. However, this team has been tested and is still answering the bell.
That being said, Alabama still looks as dominant as ever! The Third Saturday looks to renew the old rivalry as the Tide comes in at #1 and the Vols are hanging around at #9. Hoping to see a game for the ages Saturday at Neyland.
Go Big Orange!!! Beat Bama!!!
