The 2018 college football season is approaching soon, and that means there’s a new set of award watch lists to keep an eye out for.

Sixteen different award watch lists are announced throughout July. These watch lists will be shortened throughout the season and this year’s winners will be announced in early December at the annual Home Depot College Football Awards, hosted by the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta, Georgia.

Below is the full list of 2018 preseason watch lists that have been officially announced

AWARD WATCH LISTS: 

Bednarik — Awarded to the most outstanding defensive player of the year.

Maxwell — Awarded to the college football player of the year.

Mackey —  Awarded to the best tight end in college football

Rimington –Awarded to college football’s top center.

Lou Groza (announced on July 25) —  Awarded to college football’s top place-kicker. 

Ray Guy (announced on July 25) — Awarded to the top collegiate punter.

Nagurski (announced on July 24) — Awarded to the best defensive player in college football. 

Outland (announced on July 24) – -Awarded to the best interior lineman in college football. 

Thorpe (announced on July 23) — Awarded to the the best defensive back in college football

Butkus (announced on July 23) — Awarded to the best linebacker in college football. 

Hornung (announced on July 26) — Awarded  to the most versatile player in college football.

Biletnikoff — Awarded to the outstanding college football receiver regardless of position. 

Wuerffel (announced on July 26) — Awarded to the player who best combines exemplary community service with athletic and academic achievement.

O’Brien — Awarded to the best quarterback in the country. 

Doak Walker –Awarded to college football’s premier running back. 

Walter Camp (announced July 27) — Awarded to the college player of the year.
